I'VE always had an overactive imagination...

Back when I was a little kid growing up in Central California, my father's love of landscaping spawned a jungle in our backyard. It was a dream come true for a kid like me. I would spend hours exploring all the different worlds I could dream up back there, and on special occasions, if they were lucky, I would take friends and family out to dance with the goblins.

Eventually I found another outlet for my creativity... writing. In the third grade, I wrote a series of short stories for my teacher, which explained among other things, why the moon turned green. In sixth grade, I took my budding passion for prose and wrote and illustrated my first horror novella. Man, was I ever proud of those 26 pages.

But in the years to come my love of writing merged with my love of movies and my creative focus shifted to screenwriting. I've covered a lot of genres over the years from horror to action to fantasy and science fiction. I've enjoyed it all, but it was always hard to find my center, my strength, and my identity as a writer.

It all comes back to that kid dancing with the goblins in the backyard. That's when I'm happiest. I'm at my best creating worlds. They can be worlds for children finding themselves in their fantasies or they can be worlds for adults, where we try to make sense of the various injustices that they endure in their own lives or the lives of others around them.

My wish and hope is for you to lose yourself in my stories. I want you see the world with fresh eyes. I want to inspire you, to thrill you, to make you laugh, but most importantly, I want to make you think.
